Weekly Task 3 - Britney Spears
1. What do you think of her change?
Public figures are always under the spotlight; Britney Spears is no exception. During the last months, I have known countless negative news about Britney Spears. Thus, I once considered her a disreputable performer at that time due to her uncommon and improper behavior.
Surprisingly, Britney Spears turns over a new leaf soon. She confessed that she was lost in the past time, then overcoming great difficulties that she had encountered. It seems that she really repents and tries hard to leave a good impression on the multitude. In my opinion, she should be given a chance to change herself and come back on stage. After all, it is good to see that she conquers fear of loss.
2. What do you believe or not believe?
I believe that she was lost over the last few months, which was caused by numerous reasons. By the way, she lets me know that changing herself needs not only others’ assistance, but the help from herself as well.
3. What is your judgment based on?
In the beginning, I merely read what mentioned concerning Britney Spears on a newspaper. However, I set off to judge her from another angle due to her obvious change. I no longer view her as a dishonorable person. Furthermore, I expect to see her performance after she changes herself and hope that she will not repeat the same mistake.
4. Would you change your view if she were your best friend or family?
I am not quite sure. Perhaps, I will persuade her to do or not to do something and give a hand to her timely if she were my best friend or family.

回覆刪除I loved Britney Spears very much when I was an elementary student. I also believe that she just lost her way. Indeed, we may lose our ways, and doubt who we are. Therefore, we try hard to know the answer, but we use different ways. I am glad to see Britney on the stage again.

I remember that Britney Spears was a hot idol when I was an elementary student. My English teacher taught us to sing Britney’s songs with dance, and I really liked her at the time. The most interesting news for me about Britney is her relationship with Justin. I know they were dating for a long time, and then they broke up suddenly. I find out that after they broke up, much awful news appeared. For example, she took drugs in public; she got married and divorced soon.
In the past, Britney was a sweet and innocent idol. Many fans couldn’t accept her change, but I think maybe Britney wanted to release herself. To be frank, although I was shocked by Britney’s change, I felt that Britney tried to find real herself at the time. I believed that she didn’t know what she had done because she was so young not mature enough to tell what is right and what is wrong. It is very common that young people lose their way and do illegal activities. Social events happen every day in our daily life.
I had a similar experience as Britney’s. One of my friends made friends with hoodlums, so he began to skip classes just hanging around with them all day long. I tried to persuade him not to be familiar with them, but it didn’t work. Teachers and his family couldn’t figure a way out to help him, because he was so rebellious that he couldn’t accept our opinions. For him, he felt confident with those hoodlums. His grade was very bad at school, but he found a sense of achievement when he was with them. Therefore, we went our separate ways since he dropped out. In fact, I feel so pitiful that he lost his way at the time, but we couldn’t help him.
I just think that everyone must lose their ways sometimes, but it is good to find out what you really want to do. Just be careful not to lose right direction for so long, or it will be a terrible situation which we can’t mend. I appreciate Britney is back on stage now, and I look forward to her performance.

After reading the comment, I think you are rational when thinking about controversial things since you comment on Britney in an objective way. Also, your opinions help me see Britney Spears from another angle.
As for your friend, losing his way may be temporary. Perhaps, he will realize what he did was wrong and go back on the bright road to start a new leaf. Moreover, it is kind of you to give a helping hand to him, which a good friend should do. No matter who loses his or her way in any period of the life, people should give them a timely help. In this way, we can help those who get lost in their lives avoid being misled.
I am still sort of sorry for my friend, though I don’t where he is now. I just hope he lives a happy and smooth life now. In addition, I feel you are a sensitive person since you can know I am a rational person through my words. Good for you.

回覆刪除It is likely that I am a little bit sensitive, but I think my guess (you are rational) should not be wrong, right? Being rational is necessary especially when you are making a judgment on someone or something. In the real world, irrational people usually do something impulsively, which makes them regret soon. Therefore, I think being a rational person (just like you) is great.
